Buda Economic
Development Corporation,
along with many others,
was surprised to learn
of the recent closure
announcement from
Danfoss (formerly
Chatleff Controls) on
Wednesday, August 25th.
Danfoss corporate
announced that the Buda
facility would be closed
by year end and
operations consolidated
with their Monterrey,
Mexico facility. The
loss of approximate 120
jobs at the Buda
facility will be a tough
blow during this
economic recession.
Buda Economic
Development has already
reached out to the local
Danfoss management and
will offer assistance in
securing employment for
the hard working,
trained employees
affected by this
announcement. Please
contact our office if
you have knowledge of
any local company
needing employees
trained in the
manufacture, marketing
and/or distribution of
parts for the HVAC
industry. We salute the
many long-tenured
employees at the local
Danfoss facility and
their contributions to
our local economy.
Road construction
continues at Main
Street/IH 35 and along
the IH 35 frontage with
the bridge to serve the
Buda truck bypass
(Robert S. Light
Boulevard). Other
local projects include
work on the O’Reilly
Auto Parts store being
constructed on Main
Street next to Auto Zone
and the construction of
the Logan’s Roadhouse
restaurant on Old San
Antonio Road adjacent to
Cabela’s.
