Family-Owned Treze Restaurant Now Open in Downtown Buda
BUDA, TEXAS, September 3, 2026 — The Buda Economic Development Corporation (Buda EDC) is proud to announce that Treze Restaurant is now open at 318 Main St., bringing chef-made, family-owned dining that will add to the vibrancy of downtown Buda.
Treze is the realization of a decades-long dream for the Najar family, led by chef Joaquin Najar alongside his wife, Xochi Raquel, and their sons, Diego, Joel, and Leonardo. What began as an idea in 1990 became a concrete plan in 2013, and in 2026, the family finally opened its doors next to the Carrington House.
The Najar family purchased the property in 2018 and, with support from the City of Buda and the Buda EDC, including an incentive for construction and operating costs and a sales tax rebate, built a new building for the restaurant.

The restaurant is built on a simple promise: everything is chef-made, always fresh, and never frozen or microwaved. The menu features sandwiches, soups, and other made-to-order items, offering downtown Buda an accessible dining option for the whole community. True to the family’s motto, “Good Food Para Todos,” Treze aims to serve great food to everyone.
“Treze is more than a restaurant to us — it’s a dream nearly 40 years in the making,” said Joaquin Najar, chef and owner of Treze. “We built this place as a family, for families, and we can’t wait to welcome our neighbors and share good food with everyone in Buda.”
“Treze is exactly the kind of locally owned restaurant we love to see on Main Street that adds to downtown’s vibrancy,” said Brian Dyer, Assistant Director of Recruitment and Development at the Buda EDC. “The Najar family’s commitment to affordable, made-from-scratch food and their deep ties to this community make Treze a wonderful addition to downtown Buda.”
